           Established in 2017 as an institutional critique
           project by ava ansari, POETIC SOCIETIES is a
           tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit Curatorial,
           Legal, and Design Lab regitered in the
           State of Michigan, USA.


           POETIC SOCIETIES revitalizes body-conscious
           modes of expression and governance to heal
           intergenerational experiences of institutional
           violence, through forced physical,
           environmental, and sexual movements,
           gaslighting, and cultural reappropriation.

           POETIC SOCIETIES contracts, agreements,
           and collaborations are co-created from the
           space of abundance with a solid commitment
           to reparation. 

           We practice gift economy, value poetic    
           currencies, and receive humans as
           poetic-beings emerging in
           poetic environments.
